My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Roman is a described by his foster parent as "a big teddy bear of a dog".  He is extremely affectionate and loves to cuddle with anyone.  He enjoys playing with his toys, going for a romp at the dog park with other dog friends, or having someone toss a ball around in the backyard.  Roman is a young dog, approximately a year old and weighs 63 lbs.

Here is what his foster parent had to say:

Roman is still a puppy in many ways and is very curious and interested in whatever you are doing.  He loves to be with people and likes to be included in whatever you are doing.  He is good about not stealing food or counter surfing and overall is well behaved in the home. We don't crate him at all and he does sometimes get my socks or shoes when I go out.   He does love everyone and there is not a mean bone in his body.  He may however be too much for young children as he doesn't yet know his own size and is still kind of goofy.  I think he would love to be a lap dog!  He is not shy of anyone and thinks that everyone is his friend.

Roman is learning his basic commands and now knows "sit", "stand" and "down".  He is well on his way to being house trained and is learning how to walk nicely on leash.  He really enjoys going for walks and has a ball with all the dogs every time we take him to the dog park.  He gets along great with all the dogs at the dog park and even when some of them have acted aggressively towards him he just calmly walks away.  I have not tested him with cats but seeing how friendly he is with everyone I wouldn't expect there to be a problem.

During the day he enjoys laying his head in your lap while we watch tv, chewing on his bones, playing with his toys or having a game with someone in the yard.  Roman is quiet in the home but will give a bark if some unfamiliar person walks into the house.

Roman would do best with a young family. Preferably older children 7+ because he is big guy and does not know his own weight. The best way to describe him is like a giant teddy bear. He always wants to be with you kissing you and cuddling you. He also enjoys napping on your lap and bringing you his different toys and treats. He is an adorable goofy dog that would work well with a family with a decent sized yard or a dog park near by to allow him to run. Roman is truly a best friend.

If you think this big teddy bear would be a good choice for your family, please submit an application for consideration.
