My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Little Lakota is adjusting very quickly to her new life after being released by a breeder. She is smart and curious, and a quick learner. Lakota has been closely observing the other dogs in her foster home, and has become more comfortable and confident in interacting with her foster family as a result. She will need another dog in her adoptive home to continue showing her the ropes. Lakota is very sweet, and loves to give kisses and snuggle on the couch. She will make some lucky adopter a great companion--could that be you?

Lakota weighs 8.9 (toy) lbs and is grey and white parti in color and 3 years young and very active. Has cropped ears and docked tail. She is being fostered by Haldis and family in Erie PA area. Not all our dogs are totally house trained at the time of adoption. We crate train them, potty pad train them and use exercise pens and work on potty skills. Dogs learn quickly and are pretty far along by the time of adoption.

Lakota's adoption fee is $325 and it includes a written veterinary exam, Spay, Dental cleaning and some extractions if needed plus medicines after surgery. Lakota had a hernia when she arrived, and it was repaired when she was spayed. In addition you receive prepaid Microchip registration. PLUS an annual DHPP booster shot, rabies shot and tag, heartworm test and passed, fecal and preventative deworming. In season our rescue's are on flea/tick and heartworm preventative. You also receive a trial limited 30 day pet insurance from a third party.

We send you home with a copy of all the veterniarn's written vet paper work, dog training booklet, adoption paperwork, and tips. Our Foster families notes explaining our rescue dogs schedule, habits, socialization skills. We do not ship or transport our dogs you must drive to the foster home to meet the dog. You must fill out our on line application to schedule a meet and great with the foster dog. We do not require a fenced yard on all of our dogs, it is on a as needed basis. HOWEVER if you don't have a fenced yard we do require you to purchase an exercise pen (>$60 on internet) so that the dog can be safe when outside; SMALL DOGS CAN NOT BE TIED OUT.

We are not a shelter our dogs are fostered in private homes. You will need to submit a on line application to be processed to talk with the foster mom and come meet the new pet. We only adopt to adjoining states and within an 8 hour drive of any of our foster homes.

Please visit our website www.ronsrescuedrascals.org to learn more about our adoption procedures and policies, submit an adoption application, meet our volunteers and benefit from the 8+ years of rescue experience of our all-volunteer, non-profit rescue. Questions, email us at ronsrescued@aol.com.
