Holly's Story...

Holly is a spayed female, brown and white Shih Tzu, DOB November 3, 2006. She weighs 20 pounds.

Holly has spent her entire life in a puppy mill with only an elevated cramped, unsanitary wire cage to call home. With very minimal physical contact with people, virtually never leaving her cage, never getting any affection or caring human interaction. All she knows are the close, cramped cages that confine her day after day year after year. Her spirit broken. In these mills of mass breeding happiness or well being are of no concern.

Now Holly has a chance at a new start on life, where love is needed in large amounts but so is patience, time and dedication to help her blossom into a wonderful family member. Lovingly teaching her how to trust, proper house manners, how wonderful it is to play with toys, the joy of being petted, cuddled and loved.

Holly only knows the companionship of other dogs, therefore another dog in the household would be best and a fenced yard to keep her safe. In her foster home Holly is progressing wonderfully! She absolutely melts when I massage behind her ears, on her neck and head. She loves to be petted. Holly has her favorite stuffed monkey she throws up in the air playing with.

I am only accepting pre-adopt applications at this time for Holly, for further information contact Andrea at amcrawford@hughes.net

Holly will be at Petsmart in Brighton this Saturday from noon to 4 pm to meet.

About Our Rescue Group...
Last Chance Rescue was formed in 1997 in order to save animals that would have otherwise been destroyed at area shelters. Giving them a chance at a loving home. We are a very diversified group, saving over 27 thousand animals from kill lists and research selling lists. We provide medical, food, shelter and a loving home until a new family is found. We are a true "No Kill" shelter, while protecting the welfare of the general public.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Holly, a Howell Shih Tzu dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Shih Tzu for sale in Howell, or seeking a Shih Tzu dog from a breeder in Howell.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Howell already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Howell breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Shih Tzu breeders who help with Shih Tzu rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Howell paves the way for another one to be saved.
