Marlie's Story...
Maya and little Marlie are looking for a home they can go to together.
Marlie is a precious little girl who loves to play. She's independent enough that she'll keep herself occupied playing with her toys or other cats/kittens, yet loving enough to sleep with you at night & curl up on your lap. Marlie was rescued when she was about one week old and is now almost 3 months old. Maya has been somewhat of a mom to Marlie and they often play and sleep together. Marlie has spent her entire life with other kittens.
Maya is an extremely lovable, 2 yr old little girl who often seems to be trying to catch up on all the love and sleep she missed out on when she was homeless. She's very affectionate and is always happy to see you. Maya sleeps very soundly (probably because this is the first time in her life she's had a home and felt safe) and it's really cute to walk in the room talking and making noise and realize Maya doesn't even know you're there. She doesn't really meow, she basically 'chirps' for lack of a better word. Maya enjoys being picked up and held, carried like a football, snuggling and playing.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Marlie, a Waxhaw American Shorthair kitten was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a American Shorthair for sale in Waxhaw, or seeking a American Shorthair kitten from a breeder in Waxhaw.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Waxhaw already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Waxhaw breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even American Shorthair breeders who help with American Shorthair rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Waxhaw paves the way for another one to be saved.
