Indy's Story...
Why Choose me?

When we got to the interaction pen, the first thing Indy spied was a ball, and he was quick to retrieve it. We started playing fetch, and Indy was very good about bringing the ball back. He also showed me that he knows how to sit for a treat. He loved treats. In fact, he loved treats so much that playing fetch became a distant memory. Indy is friendly, likes attention, and walks well on a leash. He does need to work on not jumping when he’s off leash. As soon as he started jumping, I put the leash back on him, and he calmed down. He’s still young, but he’s also smart and “down” is a command I’m sure he can learn. Come play with Indy today. If you’re going to play fetch, though, don’t give him a treat until your playtime is over!

Act quickly to adopt Indy. Pets at this Shelter may be held for only a short time.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Indy, a Athens Labrador Retriever/Hound (Unknown Type) dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Labrador Retriever/Hound (Unknown Type) for sale in Athens, or seeking a Labrador Retriever/Hound (Unknown Type) dog from a breeder in Athens.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Athens already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Athens breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Labrador Retriever/Hound (Unknown Type) breeders who help with Labrador Retriever/Hound (Unknown Type) rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Athens paves the way for another one to be saved.
