Sawyer Brown's Story...
Name: Sawyer
Age: 6 months
Sex: Male
Weight: 16 lbs
Breed: Sheltie Mix
GREAT with other dogs, not sure about cats and kids (can be tested)
Personality: Sawyer is a pretty timid guy, but he is also curious. He LOVES other dogs and is a very appropriate player. Not too over the top for a young pup. He's also not super high-energy. As long as he is sufficiently exercised (mentally and physically), he is content to just hang around the house for the evening. We are working on teaching the basics: sit, down, loose-leash walking, recall, leave it, etc.
History: Unknown
House trained: Yes
Crate trained: Yes
Special Needs of any kind: N/A
Health: In good health
Activity Level: Medium

LGR is a foster based rescue, which means that our adoptable dogs live in foster homes. Because they live with us, we know the habits, needs, temperament, and level of training of our dogs. To adopt an LGR dog, we ask that you first submit an adoption application (link below). When we receive your application, we will review and respond via email within 7 days. Our adoption process does more than screen applicants; it allows us to work with adopters to properly match our dogs with their forever homes. Each LGR dog is spayed/neutered, vaccinated (rabies, bordatella, DHLPP), heartworm tested (age appropriate), microchipped, and treated with heartworm and flea preventative. To adopt an LGR dog, please submit an adoption application here: http://bit.ly/LGRAdoptionApp. As a foster based rescue, we rely on the generosity of people like you to open your hearts & homes to a dog in need. Why Adoption is a Great Option

Sawyer Brown, a Hastings Sheltie, Shetland Sheepdog puppy was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Sheltie, Shetland Sheepdog for sale in Hastings, or seeking a Sheltie, Shetland Sheepdog puppy from a breeder in Hastings.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Hastings already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Hastings breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Sheltie, Shetland Sheepdog breeders who help with Sheltie, Shetland Sheepdog rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Hastings paves the way for another one to be saved.
