Ruff Ruff! My name is Hope
|Breed:||Jack Russell Terrier||Color:||White - With Brown Or Chocolate||Age:||Adult|
|Size:||Small 25 lbs (11 kg) or less||Sex:||Female|
I am already spayed, housetrained, purebred, a special needs pet, in need of an experienced adopter, and up to date with shots.
Dear little 10 lb blind Hope came into the Yonkers NY shelter as a stray. Hope shows evidence of having many puppies in her estimated 6 yr old life. In typical Jack Russell fashion, she has kept her spirit and charm intact. Hope loves her walks and sniffs the air in pursuit of a possible squirrel or even better, a cat! Her most favorite pastime however is to be cuddled and loved. Hope is an exceptional little terrier that except for the look of her damaged eyes, one would not think of her as blind. She even picks up her paw when on leash she hears the word "step" and then politely steps up to the required level. She will also surprise you with a leap into your lap. Hope is spayed and the vet has confirmed that she is blind.. Her wish is for a loving home where she won't have to spend much time alone. She is house trained and prefers to be an only pet.

Rescue Group Info...
Russell Refuge provides temporary shelter to Jack Russell Terriers in the northeastern United States that are no longer wanted or have been placed in public shelters. We provide medical care before adoption and find suitable homes for terriers in our care. Our organization is funded entirely by donations. These donations are used for temporary housing, spaying/neutering, transportation from shelters, veterinary treatments, and food.
We accept applications online or by mail from adults who want to adopt Jack Russell Terriers. We require vet and personal references which are checked. We may require a home visit. We do not ship dogs so applicants need to be able to come to the Refuge in person if they adopt a dog. There is an adoption fee but no application fee.
