Jax's Story...
Jax is one sweet young boy. Only about six months old and around 35 pounds, Jax is fun and puppy-ish, but surprisingly calm and gentle.

We are fairly certain he is a Yellow Lab, McNab and Boxer mix. His coloring is all Lab; his voice, markings and ability to herd the large dogs here is all McNab, and the way he plays is all Boxer. In other words, this is a great, smart, playful all-around mutt who wants to please and be with his people. Jax is awesome with young kids. He loves playing with dogs of all sizes, and is even good with our cat. Who could ask for more?

Jax is very good on lead and great in a crate for the night. He enjoyed the car ride from the shelter to his new home so much that he literally passed out on the back seat, all stretched out. In fact, we had thought of naming him Stretch, but Jax won out.

Please email tmabrescue@gmail.com for an application and to find out where and when you can meet this young boy.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Jax, a Oakley Labrador Retriever/Border Collie puppy was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Labrador Retriever/Border Collie for sale in Oakley, or seeking a Labrador Retriever/Border Collie puppy from a breeder in Oakley.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Oakley already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Oakley breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Labrador Retriever/Border Collie breeders who help with Labrador Retriever/Border Collie rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Oakley paves the way for another one to be saved.
