My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Buddy is a sweetheart!! He's not 100% Golden, but has the personality of one (let's not tell him that, it's his short squatty legs, long body and longer ears than a Golden that give it all away). Looking at Buddy's face you would swear that he's pure Golden, that constant wagging tail and his "I love everyone personality" make believers of everyone that he's got the Golden heart. He's got the best disposition, tail always wagging, loves to give kisses and gets along with ANY dog or cat. Buddy just needs to put on a few pounds. After having been in Colorado for only a couple of days, he's learning what a grand life a dog should have. Even though Buddy is on the lean side, his is gracious about food and there is no food aggression at all. He eats side by side with his foster sisters and when it comes to treats and bones, he doesn't try to take what isn't his.

He has had free roam of the house since his arrival and hasn't had any accidents in the house. I try to get him to come to the bedroom to sleep but apparently he wasn't allowed to go to different areas. He LOVES doggy beds and follows you around all over when in the backyard and in the house...again, except for the bedroom. He can go in & out the doggy door (didn't even need coaxing). Buddy loves to play with all dogs and had been put in the age range anywhere from 3-6 years of age and has a really mellow personality. He really isn't interested in doggy toys, does very well on walks (no tugging at all) and should soon learn to like car rides (doesn't care for them right now but will go along for the ride if he must). He doesn't counter surf (probably can't because of his short legs, sorry Buddy), won't jump on people, likes children and loves belly/butt rubs.

This dog just craves people and is always so happy. Buddy arrived pretty dirty and stinky and had a bath on the night of his arrival. He did wonderfully and probably felt a lot better about himself after he was cleaned up. Buddy would do best if there were another dog in the home...he loves the companionship and likes to play with another dog daily.

Buddy's two requests of his new home: 1) lots of attention/petting/loving and 2) a comfortable doggy bed.
