Slinky's Story...
I am a 2 yrs old Dixie,Chihuahua mix that would love to have a home of my home where I will be loved forever. I had a home, but it wasn't a good one. My jaw was broken & instead of getting me to the vet they just taped my mouth shut with duct tape. I couldn't eat with my mouth taped so I got very skinny. Animal control rescued me from my back yard, thank goodness, & I was taken immediately to the vet. I had surgery & now have pins in my jaw & my mouth doesn't close all the way. It will take probably a year for my mouth to heal completely, but it doesn't keep me from being happy! I have no problem eating, I just can't chew on bones or anything like that right now. I like other dogs & everyone I meet. I am so happy to have a second chance at a happy life! Because of the delicate nature of my jaw at this time, I cannot go to a home with kids. Slinky is up to date on all shots, heart worm negative, microchiped, de-wormed, and neutered. Slinky’s adoption fee is $225.00. WE DO NOT ACCEPT PERSONAL CHECKS. Out of state adopters are responsible for arranging transport, WE DO NOT SHIP DOGS. For events calendar and adoption application please go to our website at aaprescue.org

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Slinky, a Bridgeton Dachshund/Chihuahua dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Dachshund/Chihuahua for sale in Bridgeton, or seeking a Dachshund/Chihuahua dog from a breeder in Bridgeton.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Bridgeton already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Bridgeton breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Dachshund/Chihuahua breeders who help with Dachshund/Chihuahua rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Bridgeton paves the way for another one to be saved.
