Clarence's Story...
Clarence, who is named after the angel in "It's a Wonderful Life", was abandoned in a park in Newark near a tree with a bowl of food and a carrier near by.
A jogger spotted him, and called Daps Animals. I rushed from work to pick him up and found him hovering near the tree ( carrier already gone of course!)
He was clearly distraught/scared but still very sweet and mellow. He didn't run away. He was frozen in fear. As I approached him to pick him up, he looked at me with gratitude. I picked him right up into a carrier i brought. He didn't fight me at all as most cats do when they see a carrier. He is a delight. A very gentle soul who is not shy, and would do well in any household. He has no behavior issues. I do not know why someone would just dump him in the middle of a large park. He had been there for at least one full day as it rained the night before and there was water in his food bowl. He clearly had never seen the outdoors before.
Clarence is a calm cat and a wonderful companion. He is neutered, tested for parasites and all vaccinated. He is approx between 2 and 3 yrs old

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Clarence, a bloomfield Domestic Shorthair cat was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Domestic Shorthair for sale in bloomfield, or seeking a Domestic Shorthair cat from a breeder in bloomfield.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in bloomfield already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a bloomfield breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Domestic Shorthair breeders who help with Domestic Shorthair rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in bloomfield paves the way for another one to be saved.
