Pippa's Story...
Introducing Pippa! She was picked up one freezing morning in the 5th Ward when we saw her following people out of a fast food place while waiting at stop sign. She would follow them to the car, wagging her tail, hoping they would share a bit of food, but no one even noticed her. We did, and we picked her up, she was shivering but was so happy to get into the car and be with us! She will be spayed on Jan 30 and up for adoption soon! She is only 20 lbs! We think she may be a . She is heartworm negative and can go to her new home 2nd week of February! Anyone interested can go to our website and fill out adoption application (please specify for Pippa!) Thank you!

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Pippa, a Houston Jack Russell Terrier/Basenji dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Jack Russell Terrier/Basenji for sale in Houston, or seeking a Jack Russell Terrier/Basenji dog from a breeder in Houston.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Houston already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Houston breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Jack Russell Terrier/Basenji breeders who help with Jack Russell Terrier/Basenji rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Houston paves the way for another one to be saved.
