Pippa's Story...
Introducing Pippa! She was picked up one freezing morning in the 5th Ward when we saw her following people out of a fast food place while waiting at stop sign. She would follow them to the car, wagging her tail, hoping they would share a bit of food, but no one even noticed her. We did, and we picked her up, she was shivering but was so happy to get into the car and be with us! She will be spayed on Jan 30 and up for adoption soon! She is only 20 lbs! We think she may be a . She is heartworm negative and can go to her new home 2nd week of February! Anyone interested can go to our website and fill out adoption application (please specify for Pippa!) Thank you!

Rescue Group Info...
About Our Rescue Group...
We rescue in a low income area of Houston called the 5th Ward. We founded Forgotten Dogs of the 5th Ward Project about a year ago to address what we saw as an obvious need to help the many stray dogs we were seeing in there. We set up feeding stations and network and pull as many as we can when a foster home or no-kill rescue group says they can take them in. One of our goals is education and we provide residents with vouchers that cover the complete cost of having their animals altered and vaccinated against rabies. In addition, we provide other vaccinations and worming in the field free of charge. Since November 2011 we have grown in size and have rescued over 250 dogs and a few cats from the area. We are launching a program called Habitat for Hounds through which we will donate doghouses and blankets to residents for their dogs that are kept outside. Our website is forgottendogs.org and we are a 501c3.
