Gypsy's Story...
Gypsy is a four month old Border Collie Mix. She was very depressed when she first came into foster care. She is coming out of her shell with some other puppies in the house. She is not a fan of her leash at all, so she will need some training with it. She comes when called, so we take her out in the front to play. She likes to throw the tennis ball in the air, then pounce on it.

When we play inside, she picks up the squeaky toys and carries them
into her crate until all the toys are in "her house". Gypsy would love
to live with one or two 8-12 year old kids who would like to teach her
to fetch and to run and play with her. Gypsy will not do well in a home with a loud or forceful honor. She needs someone with patience and lots of love.

Gypsy is about four moths old, 22 pounds and Updated on shots, spayed/neutered, microchipped, and heartworm tested. The adoption fee is $125.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Gypsy, a Houston Border Collie dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Border Collie for sale in Houston, or seeking a Border Collie dog from a breeder in Houston.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Houston already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Houston breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Border Collie breeders who help with Border Collie rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Houston paves the way for another one to be saved.
