My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

14 October 2013 – UPDATE FROM FOSTER HOME: Oh my goodness. This girl is melting my heart. So sweet, and so low maintenance. She’s only been with me for 2 weeks, but she is so easy to care for! She was a little nervous at first, and I’ve had to work on getting her to eat and socialize. But now, her tail is wagging at me all the time. She knows how to ask to go out, and does her business with no dallying. She doesn’t like to go for walks on the leash around downtown with me and Schroeder, because the cars and people scare her. But she is very content to hang out in the backyard and if she gets tired of waiting for Schroeder to finish his survey of the smells, she just plops down in the grass and waits for him to finish! She loves her crate, or the couch, or the bed – as long as she has a soft place to relax, she is happy. She will whine a little to let me know if she feels ‘neglected’ (i.e. SHE thinks I didn’t spend enough time petting her), but I’ve hardly heard her bark at all. She is really patient with higher energy Schroeder, but as she starts at many noises and quick movements, I’m thinking she wouldn’t do well around young children.

UPDATE – September 2013: Rudy is super sweet but a little reserved and would do best in a home with another dog. Once she gets to know you, she is all yours!!! After her daily dose of affection, Rudy often gives her kennel caretaker little barks to tell her how much she enjoyed the visit. Rudy would be a great companion for another dog and probably be attached more to one person. She and Trudy seem to be sisters or mother/daughter. We will know more about Rudy once she is in a foster home.
Rudy, 5-6 yr old spayed female, friendly but a little reserved, good with other dogs. She was a stray with Trudy at the Madison Co. Animal Shelter so her history is unknown.
