Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Three year old Winnie was an owner-surrender. Her people didn’t have time for her, but they loved her so they asked us to take her and find her a great home. We happily agreed.
Winnie was originally purchased from a notorious puppy miller in Hayward for $769!!!. Astounding for a dog that had received no medical care and had a worthless “America’s Pet” registration. We’d like to remind everyone to not get a dog from a pet store as your purchase just ensures some poor mom dog many more years as a puppy factory.
Winnie is very sweet and likes men as well as women. She grew up with a child in the home, so kids age 5 and up should be ok. Winnie is a perfect dog, except that she takes some time to transition. When she arrived in foster care, she would go out into the yard and howl to express how unhappy she was. She still occasionally does this when her foster mom has to leave her. She is also very vocal (whining and huffing) if gated off from her foster mom.
Winnie needs a home to get her out on walks and adventures since she has had neither in her past. She appears to be indifferent to the other doxies in the home, but we think she would be ok with a confident canine brother to keep her company. Her ideal home would have someone home much of the time – at least until she gets comfortable.
We have gotten Winnie spayed, vaccinated and microchipped. We confess that she was so stressed when she first arrived, we didn’t crate her, but instead she has been sleeping in the big bed.
If you are interested in Winnie, please fill out the online adoption application and contact Lindy at linla@comcast.net.
The tax deductible donation for Winnie is $275.00.
