Smokey's Story...
Smokey is a 6 month old Lab/Shepherd mix. He was born at our shelter on the 4th of July. Smokey was adopted but unfortunately brought back to us because of changes in his owners' lives. They could no longer devote enough time to him and wanted him to have a home where he will get the attention he deserves. Smokey is a wonderful dog. He gets along great with children. Smokey knows how to sit, lie down, shake, walk well on the leash and "go to bed" at bedtime. He is also crate trained. Please come meet Smokey, he'd make a wonderful family dog.

Adoption fees include spaying or neutering, vaccinations (excluding Rabies), ID microchip, collar, de-worming treatments, flea/ear mite treatments, and temperament testing. There will be an addition to the adoption price, if you reside in our county, and you want to obtain a current dog license from us.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Smokey, a Chambersburg Labrador Retriever/German Shepherd Dog puppy was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Labrador Retriever/German Shepherd Dog for sale in Chambersburg, or seeking a Labrador Retriever/German Shepherd Dog puppy from a breeder in Chambersburg.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Chambersburg already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Chambersburg breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Labrador Retriever/German Shepherd Dog breeders who help with Labrador Retriever/German Shepherd Dog rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Chambersburg paves the way for another one to be saved.
