Pierce's Story...
Meet Pierce a great dog that is fun, full of energy and loving. He walks great on a leash and loves to go for long walks. He loves to play, great with children and plays well with a snoodle who is a real hyper boy. He loves attention and will throw up his paw at you just so you will pet him. He loves human interaction and is very submissive. He especially enjoys paling around with a nineteen month old who loves to play and pet him and they interact wonderfully together.
He is so sweet and knows how to sit, shake and fetch a stick and sometimes he will bring it back to you. LOL He loves to give hugs by wrapping his paws around his foster mom's waste and then laying his head on her chest. Pierce would do great with a family that will spent time with him and has kids that will love and play with him. He is slightly over a year old and completely vetted. Please consider Pierce. Pierce is a courtesy posting for a fellow rescuer and is not in the FOR program. He's fostered in North Alabama. To learn more about him and apply, please email

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Pierce, a Homewood Golden Retriever dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Golden Retriever for sale in Homewood, or seeking a Golden Retriever dog from a breeder in Homewood.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Homewood already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Homewood breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Golden Retriever breeders who help with Golden Retriever rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Homewood paves the way for another one to be saved.
