About Our Rescue Group...
Grassroots loves animals, and we want to find our animals wonderful homes. We rescue animals that have been abandoned, strays, and mistreated. However, most of our animals are rescued right before they are scheduled to be euthanized. These animals have done no wrong, but so many shelters in our area have to deal with extreme pet overpopulation. We try to help our local shelters and community.
Come Meet Our Pets...
If you are interested in any of our pets, please contact Kendra Wright at 618-477-2231. We can schedule a meeting to match you with your new best friend. Also, check out our Facebook page for regular adoption events.
Our Adoption Process...
Grassroots requires all potential adopters to fill out an adoption application. Once the adoption has been approved, we require a signed adoption contract and a $75 adoption fee which covers the spay/neuter, UTD vaccines, and UTD heartworm & flea preventative.
We Serve the Following Cities, Towns, and/or Counties...
Grassroots is completely foster home based. As of now, all of our foster homes are located in Starkville, MS; however, we are always trying to recruit more foster parents. We serve mostly North and Central Mississippi.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Elvis, a Starkville Labrador Retriever puppy was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Labrador Retriever for sale in Starkville, or seeking a Labrador Retriever puppy from a breeder in Starkville.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Starkville already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Starkville breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Labrador Retriever breeders who help with Labrador Retriever rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Starkville paves the way for another one to be saved.
