About Our Rescue Group...
Feline Urgent Rescue (F.U.R.) of the Upstate is an all volunteer, non-profit organization founded upon the belief that the problem of homeless cats is not a problem for humans caused by cats, but a problem for cats caused by humans. Domestic cats living on their own outdoors, unlike native wildlife such as opossums and squirrels, are not able to live out their normal lifespans without human help. Homeless cats and their wild offspring are rarely able to support themselves by hunting, particularly in areas developed by humans, in which the amount of mice and other small animals available for cats to hunt is limited.

The efforts of F.U.R. of the Upstate are expensive and financed mostly from the limited personal resources of the F.U.R. of the Upstate volunteers. Therefore, F.U.R. of the Upstate welcomes donations which are used exclusively for the benefit of homeless felines.

Thank you, in advance, for your support in helping us to fulfill our mission of Saving Precious Lives By Helping Homeless Cats.

Come Meet Our Pets...
We are located at the Petsmart on Laurens Road. Volunteers are there every night around 7pm to do cage maintenance and answer questions, except Sunday's when a volunteer will be there from about 4-6pm.
Our Adoption Process...
Our fees differ for kittens and older cats. Come and see our babies, maybe you will fall in love with one. We do require an application for the cats to make sure you two will fit nicely. We love our cats and know you will too!

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Sassy, a Greenville Domestic Mediumhair cat was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Domestic Mediumhair for sale in Greenville, or seeking a Domestic Mediumhair cat from a breeder in Greenville.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Greenville already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Greenville breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Domestic Mediumhair breeders who help with Domestic Mediumhair rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Greenville paves the way for another one to be saved.
