Twiggs's Story...
My name is Twiggs and I am a young adult female Shibu Inu and Shepherd mix. I came to Home At Last Rescue with my just weaned babies and the cuties were snapped right up by lucky families but I am still waiting for my turn. I have regained my figure and my fur has gotten to be silky and soft with all the good food my foster mom feeds me. I am a real love that likes to lay down low to soak up all the love and attention you can shower on me. I do not have any accidents in my crate at night or when my foster mom goes to work but I really don`t like the whole idea of being confined in there or the house just yet. I probably did not spend much time indoors before getting rescued but give me routine and stick to it and your patience will pay off as a rescued dog never forgets that you brought them all the joy of love, warmth and care they had been missing. I don't bark but communicate with all sorts of whines and cries that must be typical of my mystery breed background so you will have fun learning all I have to say. I am submissive and would not mind kids to play with. Please apply to meet me today. I can`t wait to find a home where I can finally learn what it is like to be part of a family.

Our Adoption Process...
A home visit and reference/vet check will be done to determine the best placement of our dogs. You must complete an application, which will help us determine if the dog you are interested in is a good match for you. Home At Last reserves the right to reject any application and reserves the sole right in determining the best placement for our dogs. The application is not a guarantee of any dog’s placement. You can complete our online adoption application with the name of the dog you are applying for.

An adoption fee is necessary to cover the cost of spaying/neutering, medicating, and caring for dogs that often come from situations of neglect and sickness. We also pay the shelters a fee for every dog we rescue and sometimes have to pay a driver to transport them from shelters to our foster homes in PA and out of harm’s way. Without charging our own fee, we could not afford to do our work. Most PA county shelters get tax-payer funding and large corporate donations to support them so they can afford to let their animals go for a lower fee than we can. We thank you for your understanding.

The adoption fee for all our dogs is $275. We only adopt out dogs that have been spayed or neutered to ensure that no dogs adopted from Home At Last will be used for breeding.

We Serve the Following Cities, Towns, and/or Counties...
We are a group of volunteers whose goal is to save the lives of homeless dogs suffering in high-kill shelters, as well as owner-surrender dogs who need to be re-homed due to unfortunate circumstances. We are not a shelter, and we have no central location for the dogs we rescue. We pull dogs from various shelters and provide foster homes until they are adopted. In doing so, we hope to provide an alternative to the purchase of puppy mill and pet store dogs, thereby reducing the demand for, and ultimately, the supply of, such dogs. We strive to match each dog with the right family after the dog has been observed in a foster home.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Twiggs, a North Wales Shiba Inu/Shepherd (Unknown Type) dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Shiba Inu/Shepherd (Unknown Type) for sale in North Wales, or seeking a Shiba Inu/Shepherd (Unknown Type) dog from a breeder in North Wales.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in North Wales already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a North Wales breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Shiba Inu/Shepherd (Unknown Type) breeders who help with Shiba Inu/Shepherd (Unknown Type) rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in North Wales paves the way for another one to be saved.
