Josie's Story...
Josie is looking for what every girl wants...a loving family to call her own. When you meet her, you will not only notice her beauty, but will love her playfulness and sweetness. She enjoys the presence of people and other dogs, and will probably make a great jogging partner. She is working on learning her commands and already knows "sit" and "down" — it took her only 7 minutes to learn each command. She's mellow in the house and loves to cuddle. Josie asks that you don't take too long because she is so anxious to finally meet you!

If you are interested in meeting Josie, please download the Adoption Questionnaire, fill it out and fax it back to us at (310) 362-0321. You can also meet this and/or other available dogs at our Saturday Adoptions at Centinela Feed.

[Josie is about 1 year old and 26 lbs.]

Our Adoption Process...
All potential adopters are carefully screened through our adoption process:

- If you're interested in an animal, we'll ask that you fill out a questionnaire, which we will review to ensure you and the dog you are interested in adopting are a good match.

- You will be asked to submit to a "house-check" to determine the level of safety and adequacy of the area for the dog.

- An adoption fee is required and you must sign the adoption contract agreement, which ensures that if, for any reason, you are unable to keep the dog, he/she to be returned to Forte Animal Rescue only.

- Finally, we personally deliver your new family member to your home.

- Any additional donation would be greatly appreciated, and this portion will be tax-deductible. The donation goes to pay for all of the other animals in our care, many of which come to us with injuries or medical conditions that require treatment. Forte Animal Rescue survives solely on donations and it is for this reason that the adoption fee is nonnegotiable.

- Forte Animal Rescue reserves the right to cancel the adoption process at any time if the home situation or adoptive family has been misrepresented, if certain information was withheld, or if the dog is determined to be a better match with another family.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Josie, a Marina del Rey Shiba Inu/Australian Shepherd dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Shiba Inu/Australian Shepherd for sale in Marina del Rey, or seeking a Shiba Inu/Australian Shepherd dog from a breeder in Marina del Rey.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Marina del Rey already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Marina del Rey breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Shiba Inu/Australian Shepherd breeders who help with Shiba Inu/Australian Shepherd rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Marina del Rey paves the way for another one to be saved.
