Grayson's Story...
Sweet, shy Grayson is one of Bucktown’s oldest and longest term residents. At 10 years old, Grayson has lived most of his life in a shelter, and he longs for the day he might find a home to call his own. Grayson is a true gentleman in every sense of the word. He spends his days quietly respecting his feline roommates, usually sleeping on the outskirts of the room out of sight. Grayson is incredibly gentle and gets along well with other cats; he is often found cuddling with one or two of them. He is not at all aggressive and relishes a cheek brushing, when offered. This November, as part of Adopt a Senior Pet month, please pay Grayson a visit at our Bucktown location and let him know that sweet, older cats like him are still valued. Grayson has many more years of love to give and he’d like the chance to show you that.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Grayson, a Chicago Domestic Shorthair cat was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Domestic Shorthair for sale in Chicago, or seeking a Domestic Shorthair cat from a breeder in Chicago.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Chicago already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Chicago breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Domestic Shorthair breeders who help with Domestic Shorthair rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Chicago paves the way for another one to be saved.
