Gizmo is a wonderful little companion. She is very affectionate and loves to be held and petted but when you do not have time for her she is just as happy to amuse herself. She loves everyone including other dogs and people of all ages, and she is fine with cats. She is approximately 4 - 5 years old and weighs just under 10 lbs.
Gizmo asks for nothing but gives her all. She is a tiny little dog that just wants to be a part of someone`s life. She loves to sit in your lap but is fine just lying at your feet as well. She sleeps with no issues in her little dog bed but would be more than happy if you would let her sleep with you.
She is a very quiet little dog who enjoys the attention of anyone. Although she is quite tiny with her little Dachshund legs, she is fairly hardy and would be fine with respectful children of any age. She is a comical little dog that loves being with people but she can be left on her own without any issues. She has never been crated or needed to be crated. From the first day she was well behaved and was completely trust worthy in the home. Although she would be perfectly fine left on her own for a normal working day, we would love to find her a family where someone was home more often than not.
Gizmo enjoys going for walks but would get enough exercise running about the house. She enjoys having a backyard to play in but would be fine in an apartment. She will go on pee-pads if necessary but is more than willing to do her business outside. She knows how to ``sit pretty`` but otherwise hasn`t been taught any real tricks. She walks very nicely on leash and her recall is excellent. She is very eager to please and is just a little love.
She needs a home where she can be with her person and is small enough and friendly enough to take wherever you go. She rides wonderfully in the car.
Although she has nothing wrong with her sight, she does have a birth defect and one of her eyes is turned in. It makes her look a little funny and she will sometimes need a bit more direction than a dog with normal eyes but it only adds to her charm.
Gizmo is a happy, healthy, alert, and loving little girl. She is much cuter in person as her black face makes it hard to get good pictures of her.
