PHOEBE's Story...
PLEASE READ THIS PROFILE AND THE REQUESTED CRITERIA BEFORE CALLING OR SUBMITTING AN APPLICATION. THANKS FOR YOUR ATTENTION AND CONSIDERATION

THIS IS MS. PHOEBE....a gray/white brindle, 11 lb, 4 yr old, LhasaTzu, as far as we can determine! She was stuck at the Baldwin Park Shelter and nobody came to get her...including the person who promised to adopt her! Home she came to Lhasa Happy Homes and it was one of the best days of her/our lives! Little Phoebe loves everyone. She gives kisses to her foster friends, she makes buddies with everyone -- to all the dogs, people, older kids (over 8 yrs) but not sure about cats! She would be VERY sad to not have a canine buddy or two in her life, which she really must have....so she can cuddle with them! She is a kissy girl and shows her appreciation by being very in tune with you and everyone in the house....her foster said it was like she had always been there! She describes her as a velcro dog.... and loves to be on your lap, too!! She seems to be pp pad trained, but no guarantees. Phoebe is just a wonderful girl and she'll be even prettier when her hair grows back -- she was so matted the vet wouldn't spay her until he shaved her!! If you are looking for a great companion who has a balanced amount of play and calm, Phoebe is your girl!

Our website is updated daily. Please do not apply for this dog unless your home fits the specified criteria. All of our dogs are spayed/neutered, microchipped, groomed, vet checked, dewormed, deflea'd and come with a leash, collar and ID tag!

If you are interested in adopting a pup from Lhasa Happy Homes, please complete the Adoption Application before calling. We want to give you the time you deserve, so please help us help you!! We will contact you once it has been reviewed.

Most Sundays, unless we are doing a special event, we are at My Pet Naturally (12001 W. Pico Blvd., West LA 90064) from 11a-3:30pm. You can see this, and many more, adorable pups at this weekly event! Please do call us if you are coming to see a particular dog to make sure he/she will be at adoptions (we do not bring sick dogs to our adoption events). Please bring a copy of your application and pictures of your home and yard if we have not done a home check! Most importantly, if you have a dog, make sure you bring him or her to do a compatibility match with the dog you are interested in adopting!!! And don't forget to check out our Events Calendar for more information on events we may be doing! See our home page for more details about our adoptions at Lhasa Happy Homes.

Thanks for thinking rescue and adoption....and for considering saving a life. It will be the best gift you ever give yourself or your family.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

PHOEBE, a Los Angeles Lhasa Apso/Shih Tzu dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Lhasa Apso/Shih Tzu for sale in Los Angeles, or seeking a Lhasa Apso/Shih Tzu dog from a breeder in Los Angeles.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Los Angeles already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Los Angeles breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Lhasa Apso/Shih Tzu breeders who help with Lhasa Apso/Shih Tzu rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Los Angeles paves the way for another one to be saved.
