Ruby's Story...
Our Ruby may not be certified, but she sure is a true JEWEL! She is one sweet, petite(standing about 24 inches at shoulders/ weighing 50 lbs) Hound girl. She is approx. 3- 3/12 years old. It is a mystery to her foster parents as to why her former owners surrendered her to a kill shelter? She gets along very well with the 4 other Hounds in the family and even is nice to the little Chihuahua. She has been nose to nose with a few of the household cats and only seems a bit curious about them, not aggressive at all. However, if same cat is outside she will indeed chase! Ruby walks nicely on a leash, she rides in car like a lady and has been 100% crate and housetrained. She loves to run the fenced property chasing squirrels, yet also loves to just hang out with her people indoors. This foster family loves Coonhounds and finds them all to be very smart, most loving, loyal, easily trainable and with a charming personality that keeps you laughing. As of yet, she is not tested with children; but we have never seen a Coonhound that did not really like kids. We are sure Ruby will be no exception to this "Hound rule".

Rescue Group Info...

About Our Rescue Group...
Pooches & Purrs Cooperative is a group of rescues and individual rescuers that are working hard to find loving homes for the dogs, cats, kittens and puppies that find their way into our care through no fault of their own. Each individual or group has several wonderful dogs In Tennessee, Alabama or Kentucky looking for homes! All of them are completely vetted and neutered/spayed (if age appropriate) and on heartworm protection. All of them come with complete medical records. Their adoption fee of $450 covers their complete age appropriate vetting and heartworm preventative as well as their transportation to your area.
Our rescues don't have an actual shelter building in the New England area. Due to this it is not always possible to meet them prior to their adoption. At times, a dog may be in foster care in New England and their bio will clearly be marked as such so you will know. These southern dogs & cats are brought up to their new owners weekly! We have a 14 day money back guarantee and the pet can be rehomed appropriately if things don't work out. Each group tries hard to get good matches in your homes so that everyone has a happy life together! To date the cooperative has placed over a two thousand dogs and puppies, cats and kittens in loving New England homes! Each group has many, many, references of happy adopters up in your area that can fill you in on their experience. Just email and they can pass along that information for your convenience. Thanks!

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Ruby, a Spring Valley Redbone Coonhound dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Redbone Coonhound for sale in Spring Valley, or seeking a Redbone Coonhound dog from a breeder in Spring Valley.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Spring Valley already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Spring Valley breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Redbone Coonhound breeders who help with Redbone Coonhound rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Spring Valley paves the way for another one to be saved.
