Sadie's Story...
SADIE is a beautiful approximately 5 year old lab female. She is an incredible dog. She came to FARR the after she gave birth to 5 puppies in the shelter. She is completely housebroken, not once has she gone in the house since she arrived 1/4/13. She knows how to shake, loves to fetch a ball or any stuffed animal. She gets along great with my other dogs and cats. She has recently decided that her pups are big enough and she’s no longer interested in nursing them. So, it’s now her turn. She deserves to find her forever home, dry up, get spayed, and start her new journey in life. We are hoping to either adopter her out or move her to a new foster home so her pups can be weaned. Then it will be approximately a week before she can be spayed at FARR’s expense. Her adoption fee is $150, and she is currently fostered in Palm Harbor.

If you are interested in adopting, please send an email to AdoptFromFARR@yahoo.com with the dog’s name listed in the subject line. Please include your name and return contact info.

FARR places our rescue pups in personal foster homes throughout Pinellas, Hillsborough, and Pacso Counties. FARR – Florida Retriever Rescue is a 501c3 NonProfit group composed totally of volunteers working to save the lives of neglected and unwanted dogs. The adoption fee helps to cover the first 2 shots, Dewormer, and neuter or spay fees, as well as a rabies shot, if the dog is over 4months at time of adoption, and a heartworm test, if the dog is over 6months at time of adoption, as well as any transport or pull fees FARR may have paid to the shelter for our rescues. All funds taken in are used strictly for the care and health of our rescues. You can also check out our other available rescue dogs and puppies currently fostered around the Tampa Bay area by visiting FARR Adopt-A-Pet http://www.adoptapet.com/adoption_rescue/75598.html or FARR Pet Finder http://www.petfinder.com/shelters/FL466.html Thank you for your interest in a rescue dog!

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Sadie, a Largo Labrador Retriever dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Labrador Retriever for sale in Largo, or seeking a Labrador Retriever dog from a breeder in Largo.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Largo already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Largo breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Labrador Retriever breeders who help with Labrador Retriever rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Largo paves the way for another one to be saved.
