Gus Gus's Story...
Why Choose me?
Gus Gus came in on January 28th but is just now available for adoption. He arrived with two of his brothers Tad and Tab who have already been adopted (you can see them on the Recently Adopted page), but Gus Gus was too afraid to be available at that time. One of the officers of Animal Control has been working with Gus Gus, and he is over his shyness. She gave him his cute little name and told me that he gives kisses when he’s not being shy. He also doesn’t like having his kennel dirty-a great sign for house training!–and is good about taking a bath. In fact, Gus Gus had just had a bath and was tucked away in the back of her shirt staying warm. It was raining when I met this sweet puppy, so I didn’t want to take him outside. We took his pictures indoor, but as soon as it is a pretty day, I’ll try to get more pictures of him. I’m told that he is playful and loves squeaky toys. I enjoyed cuddling with Gus Gus and wished I could have taken him home with me. Come meet this cutie today. Maybe you’ll be the lucky one to take him home!

Act quickly to adopt Gus Gus. Pets at this Shelter may be held for only a short time.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Gus Gus, a Athens Pit Bull Terrier/Hound (Unknown Type) puppy was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Pit Bull Terrier/Hound (Unknown Type) for sale in Athens, or seeking a Pit Bull Terrier/Hound (Unknown Type) puppy from a breeder in Athens.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Athens already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Athens breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Pit Bull Terrier/Hound (Unknown Type) breeders who help with Pit Bull Terrier/Hound (Unknown Type) rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Athens paves the way for another one to be saved.
