Ellie May's Story...
Ellie May is a small and sweet little girl. We are pretty sure she is a Dachshund/Miniature Pinscher mix as she is very smart and affectionate with occasional pogo sticks for legs. Don't let the white on her muzzle fool you about her age, it's simply her markings. Ellie May is only around one and a half years old, and she's only around eight pounds.

Ellie May is amazing on leash. She walks at a heel without needing correction! Of course, she wouldn't mind at all if she were carried most of the time, but she does love following that nose of hers so likes to walk at least part of the time.

Ellie May does very well in a crate all night long and to travel, though she may protest for a little bit at first. She loves to play with the other dogs at her foster home and even likes the cat. Ellie May is small and so needs to go to a home where any children are at least 10 and older.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Ellie May, a Oakley Dachshund/Miniature Pinscher dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Dachshund/Miniature Pinscher for sale in Oakley, or seeking a Dachshund/Miniature Pinscher dog from a breeder in Oakley.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Oakley already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Oakley breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Dachshund/Miniature Pinscher breeders who help with Dachshund/Miniature Pinscher rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Oakley paves the way for another one to be saved.
