Theodore (Teddy mostly) is a 3 legged short-haired russian blue colored cat about 2 years old. He's a special very loving cat with an eventful history.
He probably lost the lower half of a back leg due to an umbilical cord accident (when kittens are born too quickly - usually to an inexperienced mother - and umbilical cords tangle the kittens together and tournequet off a leg). He came to us as a 1 year old with the end of his tibia only covered by skin and, while he got around well on 3 legs, he screamed in pain when the stump was touched - so he had his leg amputated higher up to resolve a source of pain and prevent eventual problems. He's healed well and can now be touched and pet in the area of his amputation without any discomfort.
Then, in December, he had several episodes of feline lower urinary tract disease (straining to urinate - no infection present) - as he was very stressed during these episodes and hard to treat medically when stressed, we made the decision to have surgery (perineal urethrostomy) done to resolve any potential for urethral obstruction. He has not had any issues with this at all since - urinating completely normally with no diet change or medications.
Hopefully that will be the end of his medical issues forever now! He's felv/fiv negative, neutered, vaccinated, and microchipped.
He is shy with strangers and will need a few weeks at least to settle in to a new home and be himself. But, once acclimated, he's a very affectionate boy. He loves to be pet and loves to cuddle on his foster mother's lap. He gets along well with the other cats and, while he occasionally swats the dogs if they are too intrusive, he's not excessively worried about them.
