My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Adopted 5-26-13; unavailable. Original bio below:

Monroe is a perfect example of why Yorkies are one of America's favorite dogs. This charming Yorkie mix male is 1.5 to 2 years old & just over 9 lbs. Monroe wakes up as happy as can be & is ready for another fun day of adventure; he loves life & everyone in it. He has what the French call "joie de vivre" - cheerful joy of life. He's great with other small & large dogs. His foster home has a male Yorkie, 2 Golden Labs & 2 cats. Monroe loves to play & hang out with them. He's even good with cats. He will chase them but only to play; he won't hurt them. He's super loving to his humans. He'll snuggle with you & give you gentle kisses. He has an excellent temperament & is good about everything - the vet, the groomer, riding in a car, meeting new dogs & people, going for a walk. His foster family & our vet staff have all fallen in love with him & give him 4 paws up. This little sweetheart is neutered, fully vaccinated, microchipped, dewormed, examined by our vet & professionally groomed. He's a typical Yorkie - happy, sweet, affectionate, playful, good-natured, fabulous personality, & he's cute as a button. Monroe's new forever home requires at least 1 other small, young dog (not larger than 12 lbs & not older then 4 years). He's a gentle dog who would do best in an all adult home or a home with older children only (12 years & up who have small dog experience & know how to properly treat them). Monroe needs a little more training & time to be 100% on his potty training. He does go outdoors every time he's taken out to the back yard or on a leash for a walk. He's being crate trained in his foster home & is excellent about it. He sleeps in a wire crate & eats his meals there, too. Monroe is a wonderful little dog who will quickly steal your heart. If you have the type of home this precious little guy needs, click here Adoption Guidelines to read our adoption criteria & complete an adoption application. Monroe's adoption donation is $375 & includes his lifetime microchip registration. Thank you for choosing to adopt & save the life of a homeless pet!
