My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

This is a story that will break your heart, but in the end, has a very happy ending!! We were notified about a dog, chained to a tree, without any food/water, and barely and shelter. She was tied to that tree when we had a foot of snow and her doghouse was so small, she couldn't even get in it. When we saw the photo of her tied to the tree, we could see that her spirit was broken. She was beat down emotionally and physically! We were given permission to seize the dog and went to get her. We immediately took her to the vet and discovered that her entire body was one large scab. This was the cause of the bleeding on her feet. She was very thin and very thirsty. We kept her at the vet for 3 weeks. During that time, she was loved on, kept warm, and given weekly dips for her skin. They also spayed her, vaccinated her, and tested her for heartworms. We were shocked and thrilled when she tested negative!!!! Then, I took her home! SHE IS SUCH AN AMAZING DOG!!! I have many dogs at my house who live in the house with me. I have a 6lb Yorkie and a 55lb Lab mix and several in between. Riley is so nice to all of them. When we first got her, we thought she was older based on her appearance and behavior, but not now. She loves to play and run with the other dogs and she loves to be petted!! She still needs several more treatments for her skin and it will take several weeks to a month, but then she will be ready for adoption. She is completely housetrained and does not chew on anything! She is also crate trained and LOVES the comfort of her crate. She sleeps in it at night. We do believe she is full blooded and approximately 2-4 years old. We are looking for a home that has a fenced in yard. She needs to be able to run and play. We also want a family who has time to spend with her, who will also care for her medical needs. Her thyroid levels were low and we do have her on thyroid medication. I have been told that it is very inexpensive!! She is located in Arkansas. We use Alpha Dog Transport to bring our dogs to the northeast. They charge $125 and her adoption fee is $250. We will provide her first month of thyroid medication.
If you are looking to adopt a true rescue dog, you can't get any better than this!! Email Monica at psiloveyouar@yahoo.com if interested in more information. I have taken many videos of her and would be happy to share them with you.
