Zeke's Story...
Zeke and his sister Rosey (adopted) were pulled on their last day from a local kill shelter. Zeke is an adorable, medium-sized Border Collie (or mix) with a very atypically BC attitude. He's a couch potato, and loves nothing better than to hang out with you, whatever you are doing. He loves long walks, sleeping on your feet, hanging out in the car, and just generally being around his people.

Zeke walks nicely on a leash, is housebroken, rides politely in cars, and is just looking for an awesome family to hang out with forever.

Unlike most BCs, Zeke is not particularly interested in a sporting life with agility, obedience, or flyball. He has very little prey drive and is not particularly interested in toys. While most BCs and Aussies we know would make fantastic sports competitors, Zeke is a bit more of a homebody and would really prefer a companion home that wants a beautiful herding dog who doesn't need quite so much mental stimulation.

Zeke will be neutered before placement.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Zeke, a Dallas Border Collie/Australian Shepherd dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Border Collie/Australian Shepherd for sale in Dallas, or seeking a Border Collie/Australian Shepherd dog from a breeder in Dallas.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Dallas already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Dallas breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Border Collie/Australian Shepherd breeders who help with Border Collie/Australian Shepherd rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Dallas paves the way for another one to be saved.
