Biography:  Noni and Zena are sisters.  They came into the shelter when they were only 6 months old.  They weighed only about a pound each then.  They were hand raised from babies by a wildlife rehabber, who brought them to us when they were 9 weeks old.  They have been in foster care while they were growing up, and are ready to find their permanent home now.  They are really both very loving and affectionate buns, since they were hand raised as babies.  Even though they are a pair, they will still give love and play with their humans too.

If this little one appeals to you, hop over to our adoption application so this bun can start a new life at your home!

Each rabbit has been examined by our veterinarian, spayed/neutered, and litterbox trained.

Adoption fees are as follows: $75.00 for a single rabbit, $125.00 for a pair and $175.00 for rabbit trios. This adoption fee includes spaying or neutering as well as the House Rabbit Handbook. These fees are fully tax-deductible.

Adoptions from us are a great deal - if you purchase a rabbit at a pet store or breeder, you'll pay $15 -$50 for a rabbit that is not spayed or neutered. Spay/neuter is the single most important thing you can do for your bunny's lifestyle and health. As a responsible rabbit owner, you will pay $200-$300 for a neuter and $250-$400 for a spay when you obtain these services outside our shelter.

Rescued rabbits not only cost less - you're giving a bunny a second chance!

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Noni And Zena, a Newport Lionhead was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Lionhead for sale in Newport, or seeking a Lionhead from a breeder in Newport.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Newport already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Newport breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Lionhead breeders who help with Lionhead rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Newport paves the way for another one to be saved.
