Bert's Story...
My name is Bert and I am one lucky little fellow! I was rescued running around in a grocery store parking lot, dirty, hungry, and very scared. I am approximately 2 years old and am very sweet and loving. I am now in a foster home with the other dog I was rescued with and am very happy! I love to play and need much love. I am crate trained and housebroken and would love to meet you at the AARF adoption fair on Saturday from noon until 4 at 311 Harvey Street in Winston Salem. I cannot be adopted outside a one hour radius of Winston Salem due to a home visit being a part of the adoption process.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Bert, a Winston-Salem Terrier (Unknown Type, Small)/Basset Hound dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Terrier (Unknown Type, Small)/Basset Hound for sale in Winston-Salem, or seeking a Terrier (Unknown Type, Small)/Basset Hound dog from a breeder in Winston-Salem.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Winston-Salem already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Winston-Salem breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Terrier (Unknown Type, Small)/Basset Hound breeders who help with Terrier (Unknown Type, Small)/Basset Hound rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Winston-Salem paves the way for another one to be saved.
