Rascal's Story...
I’m quite the little Rascal! I am a male Jack Russell mix, approximately 2 years old, and weigh only 27 lbs. I am neutered, up-to-date on vaccines, and de-wormed. I am a real people kinda dog! I am crate-trained and housetrained. My favorite things are hanging out with folks, going for car rides, and taking long walks. I get along well with my foster family’s pets – 2 large dogs and a cat- but would really love to be top dog! If you want to meet me to see if we are destined to be a family, contact my foster mom, Lynn G., at floydhumane@gmail.com or by calling 540-763-2010 or leave a message at 540-745-7207. You may submit an online application at www.floydhumanesociety.org.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Rascal, a Floyd Jack Russell Terrier/Beagle dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Jack Russell Terrier/Beagle for sale in Floyd, or seeking a Jack Russell Terrier/Beagle dog from a breeder in Floyd.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Floyd already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Floyd breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Jack Russell Terrier/Beagle breeders who help with Jack Russell Terrier/Beagle rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Floyd paves the way for another one to be saved.
