My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

A casualty of divorce…

And it didn’t end there.

Nicholas was brought to the ACF after he was found wandering the streets of Coronado.

The staff was hopeful that he would be reunited with his owner when they discovered that he was microchipped.

The call was made and it turns out that when Nicholas’s humans got divorced, he was given away to a friend who lives in Imperial Beach. How he got to Coronado, no one knows.

His former mom is living in a trailer in Alpine with her two children and doesn’t feel that it is a good place for Nicholas. She couldn’t get in touch with the friend who had adopted Nicholas from her and her only other resource lives in Jamul and she isn’t sure they would keep him inside.

After numerous discussions, everyone felt that it would be best for Nicholas if he stayed at the ACF while PAWS finds him a new home.

We are all sure that will happen pretty quickly. You see, Nicholas is an amazingly friendly and affectionate cat.

He comes to you when you call his name and allorubs as he glories in your pets. He loves being held like a baby and purrs and purrs as he nestles in your arms.

It is hard to believe he is 5 years old – he looks and acts more like a teenager. He loves to play and will take the toy and run away with it, encouraging you to come get it.

If you are looking for an intelligent, affectionate and loyal feline companion, Nicholas is the cat for you!

You can meet Nicholas at the Coronado Animal Care Facility any day between 9:00 am and 4:00 pm (except holidays).

If you are interested in adopting Nicholas, you must first complete a Cat Adoption Application and meet with a PAWS of Coronado Cat Adoption Counselor.
