Toby's Story...
Toby - Toby is a young male beagle, about 3 years old. His previous owner only had Toby for a little over a month before bringing him to a shelter. He had been found by a family friend and when they couldn’t locate his family, Toby was given to them. Toby is a great dog and they loved him dearly, however; their family dog of 5 years just didn’t like a newcomer in the home. His family described Toby as a lap lover and told us that Toby enjoys going for car rides, playing fetch, running, and taking long walks! Toby is petrified of nail trims and was even given a sedative at his last vet appointment. Nail trims seem to be the only thing that worries this sweet boy! He loves children and is doing great with his canine foster brother! Toby does know basic commands such as sit.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Toby, a Indianapolis Beagle dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Beagle for sale in Indianapolis, or seeking a Beagle dog from a breeder in Indianapolis.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Indianapolis already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Indianapolis breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Beagle breeders who help with Beagle rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Indianapolis paves the way for another one to be saved.
