Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Birthdate: 12/26/12
Gender: Male
Breed: Husky/Shepherd mix
Siblings: Adonis, Aphrodite, Athena, Venus
Almost Christmas babies, the Divine Love litter came into the world in the chilly late-December air, born to an outside chained purebred Husky. For the first three weeks of their lives, they huddled close to mom, thankful for her warm fur and the protection it provided from the cold.
But when they were only three weeks old, suddenly their mother died, the victim of poison. Thankfully the pups were spared and taken inside to be hand raised.
Finally at 6 weeks old, their owners called for help to find these gorgeous puppies new homes.
Now they’re living in one of our foster homes, and those chilly beginnings are nothing more than a memory, quickly forgotten with time. They romp through their foster home all day long, exploring new things, trying new treats and playing with the kids. Attention is far from short in supply. And they’re just soaking it all up.
These pups are great with everyone and everything. They’re sharing their foster home right now with several other older pups, and they love to play all day long. At the shelter, they’ve met big dogs and small, young and old. If you watch their videos, you’ll even see a few with some of our kittens.
We know for sure that their mother was a purebred Husky. As for dad… our best guess is a Shepherd based on their markings. Whatever Dad was, he was definitely no small boy. When they arrived at a mere 6 weeks old, they were already tipping the scales at 12 pounds each, so we’re expecting the pups to be 60 to 70 pounds, at least, as adults. Plan on a large dog.
The pups have started on housebreaking with their foster mom, but they’re still very young, so potential adopters should plan on some accidents in the beginning. Perfection comes with time and patience. We recommend crate training as the easiest way to housebreak a new pup and would be happy to give you some pointers.
The Divine Love Litter is currently in foster care, but they would love to meet you. Please call 330-397-8270 to schedule an appt to meet them at the shelter. They are not yet old enough to spay/neuter, but this will be done BEFORE they go home at 8 weeks old. Until then, you can meet them and fill out an application to adopt. If approved, you must leave a 50% deposit ($100) to reserve your favorite pup. They will then go home with you the day after their spay/neuter.
