Banana Jolene's Story...
Banana Jolene, Barkley and their friend CeCe were rescued from Animal Care Services on the same day; we saw the pictures and it's almost as if they were begging us to come save them! Well we did just that, and they couldn't have given sweeter kisses to thank us!
Banana Jolene "Banana" as her foster mom calls her, tells us that she has been a shy gal since she took her home. She wasn't too sure of her surroundings and why all of her new foster siblings were bringing these toys to her; it looks fun but she doesn't know what to do with them! Banana may not have had the greatest life before she came to MHCR, but with some love and a little bit of reassurance she has become the sweetest gal on the block! She'll tease you just to get you to play with her.
Look at the dramatic change in Banana NOW as opposed to when she first came to us... she is so cute!

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Banana Jolene, a San Antonio Shih Tzu dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Shih Tzu for sale in San Antonio, or seeking a Shih Tzu dog from a breeder in San Antonio.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in San Antonio already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a San Antonio breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Shih Tzu breeders who help with Shih Tzu rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in San Antonio paves the way for another one to be saved.
