Lilac's Story...
My name is Lilac. My sister is Lavender. Several people called Feral Cat Rescue to tell them that we were living outside Wendy's in Leonardtown right by the road. At first, we thought that we would be trapped, vetted and then moved to a barn situation. One of the ladies decided to see if we could respond to love and be domesticated and sure enough we loved being petted and held. We are two little purr machines. In just two weeks, we have come around and we are on the road to being wonderful adoptable girls. I am still the shy one and I will need more time to trust you. We are both unusually soft and our markings are gorgeous. We are fully vetted and cost $125 each or two for $200. If you would like to meet us and adopt one or both of us, please stop by Petco on Sundays between 11 and 3. We can't wait to meet you.
If interested in adopting one of us or both of us please Click Here and fill out our application. You can email it back to info@feralcatrescuemd.org or diane@feralcatrescuemd.org

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Lilac, a Great Mills Calico kitten was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Calico for sale in Great Mills, or seeking a Calico kitten from a breeder in Great Mills.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Great Mills already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Great Mills breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Calico breeders who help with Calico rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Great Mills paves the way for another one to be saved.
