Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Sonya's Australian Shepherd mix pups were born on 2/12/13, and should be ready to go home around 4/20/13. There are 6 boys and 4 girls. The father is suspected to be a border collie/kelpie mix living on the property where Sonya originated.
As of 2/26/13, the pups' eyes began to open. On 3/1/13, they started to walk - can't wait for next week's video now!
We expect to accept applications for them over the next 2-3 weeks, before starting to match pups and applicants.
We do anticipate that we will receive more applications than we have puppies, but will not be adopting "first come, first served" - we will be choosing the *best* homes/lifestyles for each pup, and only if we end up with two equally suitable homes will time of application become the deciding factor.
Applicants may receive additional "interview questions" by mail or phone after we receive the application.
For applicants outside the Republic/Curlew area, please be sure to email photos of your home/yard/fence (if any)/other pets (if any).
So, who NEEDS a furry bundle of love (and potty training, and teething, and obedience training, and exercising, and... well, you know, they are puppies after all, LOL). Please be sure to do your research on Australian Shepherd mix dogs, they are a high-energy breed.
Puppies require a lot of human interaction, and all puppies will benefit from obedience training and full immersion in their human household. These pups' ideal homes will have someone who can exercise them with a couple of energetic walks each day, plus commitment to training them how to be the best dogs they can be. They hope to have very few hours per day when they will be without the companionship of a human or other pet. They will reward their forever owners with boundless love and loyalty! We start all puppies on their vaccinations as soon as they arrive at the shelter (these pups will have had 1 or 2 vaccinations before they go home); most will require additional boosters in the first couple of months after arriving in their new homes, and rabies vaccination between 4-6 months of age.
All Forget Me Not pets come with a 30-day money-back trial adoption period.
Spay/neuter, worming, microchip and all age-appropriate shots are always completed before placement, and are included in the adoption fee (suggested minimum $95; more gratefully accepted!)
Can't come to Republic? Don't let that stop you! We have monthly transports to both the Seattle area and Spokane, delivering adopted pets to their new owners. If you can add a little to your payment to help us cover our volunteer driver's expenses, that would be great!
