My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Amigo is an adorable, loyal and loving, five-year-old, six-pound, male Chihuahua looking for a loving guardian. Amigo was rescued from a shelter in Kentucky. He was given up by a hoarder who realized he couldn’t afford to care for his dozens of Chihuahuas. Amigo can be a little stand-offish with people at first, but he warms up quickly. In fact, food is the way to his heart. Amigo is often terrified when new people come to the home. He hides under the table, but can be coaxed out with a treat. He will even dance on his hind legs for treats. He loves going for walks – even in Chicago’s cold winter. He loves to snuggle with his people and dog friends. He's well-behaved in his foster home, knows how to sit on command, and is crate-trained and mostly housebroken. Amigo loves to cuddle under the covers with his foster mom. He’s a good sleeper and doesn’t budge all night. Amigo does well with other dogs - large and small, but he can be a little intimidated by larger dogs at first, but he loves smaller dogs, especially other Chihuahuas. He is quiet in the home and not much of a barker, so he'd do fine in an apartment or condo. Amigo will be a great companion in a quiet home with a patient dog lover. To meet and possibly adopt Amigo, please contact his foster mom Samantha at palsplace1@hotmail.com or 773-615-9864. His adoption fee of $100 benefits the rescued dogs of Pal’s Place. He is healthy, neutered, de-wormed, up-to-date on vaccines, micro-chipped, heartworm-tested, and on monthly heartworm preventative. He even had his teeth cleaned.
