Gracie's Story...
Beautiful Gracie the Standard Poodle finds herself back at Kiko due to unavoidable changes on the home front. Originally rescued as a stray from a high-kill pound, she was adopted in the fall of 2011 to a family with a large home and backyard, and someone working from home. A move to a downtown condo and change in work schedule meant no time for Gracie. At about 50 pounds, Gracie is a nice size, not too big and not too small. Typical of her breed, she is an intelligent and active girl who will require an ample exercise and stimulation routine in a structured environment. Gracie gets along well with other dogs and travels well in the car. If you have experience with this breed and are interested in Gracie, please drop us a line.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Gracie, a Rigaud Poodle (Standard) dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Poodle (Standard) for sale in Rigaud, or seeking a Poodle (Standard) dog from a breeder in Rigaud.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Rigaud already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Rigaud breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Poodle (Standard) breeders who help with Poodle (Standard) rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Rigaud paves the way for another one to be saved.
