My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Snowy is a beautiful white mini schn. He whoo whoo's, loves attention, is good on house training. Loves kids and gets along with cats and dogs of all sizes. He is discovering toys and very playful. He came from a breeder release and is one lucky fellow, he was adopted and they love him but due to health reasons of the owners and his fear of their grand kids was returned for us to find him a new home. He is afraid of toddlers so needs mature kids around. However he was in a foster home with a toddler and did fine. He is scared and insecure of new things but fine in his own home and environment, and will need to be walked daily for confidence, and someone willing to work with him to over come his fears.

Snowy weighs 20 pounds, is white in color, and 7 years young and active. He has (cropped/natural) ears, and a docked tail. snowy is being fostered by Jan and her family in Cleveland Hgts OHIO His adoption fee is $250. Our vet package includes a spay or neuter; dental exam, with extractions if deemed necessary by the vet; rabies vaccination with tag, and DHPP vaccination; clear heartworm test; clear fecal test for other worms, and preventive deworming. He seems to be sensitive to Frontline so you will need to use a different flea preventative. His owners said he has a sensitive stomach so he is on a grain free dog food. Any illness found during the vet exam is treated. We give you a written record from our vet of these and any other procedures performed to provide to your own vet. In season, our rescued dogs are on flea/tick and heartworm preventives. Please note: Some of our dogs need a fenced in yard, and this is specified where required. If you do not have a fenced in yard, we require that you purchase an exercise pen so the dog can be safe when outside. These are available online for less than $60, and you must bring proof of purchase to your adoption appointment. Most of our dogs are small, and cannot be tied out. You will receive a lifetime prepaid microchip registration, and a 60-day limited trial for pet insurance from a third party. In addition, we provide our foster family’s notes on your dog’s routine, including food, schedule, and social skills. An adoption packet will be given to you at your adoption appointment, and includes other suggestions that will help you and your dog establish your new relationship,. We also have a Facebook page for our adopters, and we have a volunteer who can answer questions on training your new pet. We are not a shelter—our dogs are cared for in foster homes by our volunteers. We do not ship or transport our dogs. You must drive to the foster home to meet your dog. An adoption appointment is scheduled after you complete an online application, and are approved for adoption. We work on potty skills in foster care, including crate training, potty pad training, and use of exercise pens. Most dogs are potty trained by the time they are adopted—the foster mother can update you on the status of your dog’s skills at the time of adoption. Adopters must be prepared to continue training and socialization after adoption, particularly for dogs that were released from a breeder, and are just learning to live in a home. Please visit our website www.ronsrescuedrascals.org to learn more about our adoption procedures and policies, submit an adoption application, meet our volunteers, and learn how you can benefit from the 9+ years of rescue experience of our all-volunteer, non-profit rescue.
