Handsome little Asscher came to us as the last of an unintended litter who ended up living in a good samaritan's garage in outstate Minnesota. The good samaritan would have liked to have kept Asscher but they were not equipped to raise a puppy at this time. So Asscher became a Diamond dog! And boy, are we glad he did. He is an exceptional puppy! Asscher is approximately 4-5 months old and is a lab/golden retriever mix. He weighs 41 pounds so is likely to grow to be a big boy. His canine teeth are still puppy teeth but all other adult teeth have come in. Asscher is doing a nice job of understanding that young children, boots, gloves, and adult hands are not for chewing on. He sometimes grabs something he shouldn't but when told no, he is good about stopping. Asscher appears to be 99% housetrained which is quite a feat for a young pup who just came in from the cold to live in a garage a few weeks ago!. Asscher does not love to go in a crate but is being crated during the workday and overnights. He loves adults, children, and other dogs alike and wants to be with his people. He follows us from room to room. For such a young puppy, Asscher has quite a laidback disposition. He certainly gets excited sometimes but we would definitely not describe him as hyper. He can often be found sitting or lying near the closest human, just keeping an eye on his human buddy. Asscher loves to chew and enjoys all the dog toys in his foster home. He has been dewormed, neutered, microchipped, and brought up-to-date on age appropriate vaccinations. As with all Diamond dogs, Asscher has been started on clicker training and knows "sit" and is learning "down". Let us know if you are interested in meeting Asscher in person!
