Bawco's Story...
When Bawco was first found last year it was impossible to know what color or what breed he was. He was in very bad shape with almost no fur and very emaciated. Now look at him!! He is a sweet and undemanding boy who loves treats and gentle pets. He does well with other large dogs but he is just a bit too curious about cats. He knows how to sit and is eager to learn and he loves playing with toys. Bawco is housetrained and crate trained and heartworm negative. He would love to have a boy or girl (or better still both) to play with. Please fill out an adoption application on our website at: http://forgottendogs.org/adoption_application.html or email his foster mom at kellek-9@peoplepc.com if you are interested in meeting him. Be sure to say that you are looking for Bawco. Thank you!

About Our Rescue Group...
We rescue in a low income area of Houston called the 5th Ward. We founded Forgotten Dogs of the 5th Ward Project about a year ago to address what we saw as an obvious need to help the many stray dogs we were seeing in there. We set up feeding stations and network and pull as many as we can when a foster home or no-kill rescue group says they can take them in. One of our goals is education and we provide residents with vouchers that cover the complete cost of having their animals altered and vaccinated against rabies. In addition, we provide other vaccinations and worming in the field free of charge. Since November 2011 we have grown in size and have rescued over 250 dogs and a few cats from the area. We are launching a program called Habitat for Hounds through which we will donate doghouses and blankets to residents for their dogs that are kept outside. Our website is forgottendogs.org and we are a 501c3.
