Boo's Story...
Hello. My name is Boo. I am a 7-month-old black domestic short hair. I arrived at the START II shelter shortly before Halloween, hence my name. Being a black cat and all, the name suited me. Don't worry. I'm not scary! In fact, I'm very playful. One of my favorite toys is catnip infused stuffed mice. I go bonkers over those! For the most part, I don't enjoy being held (although under rare conditions I may allow it). However, I am affectionate and will rub against your leg or give you kisses. I'm looking for a furever home that has lots of energy so they can keep up playing with me. My vaccinations are current, I'm parasite-free, spayed, and tested negative for FIV and Feline Leukemia.

We have scheduled adoption hours on Fridays from 6 pm - 9 pm, Saturdays from 11 am - 6 pm and on Sundays from 12 pm - 6 pm. For more information please call Donna at 201-873-7533 or e-mail startkayne@gmail.com.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Boo, a Elmwood Park Domestic Shorthair cat was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Domestic Shorthair for sale in Elmwood Park, or seeking a Domestic Shorthair cat from a breeder in Elmwood Park.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Elmwood Park already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Elmwood Park breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Domestic Shorthair breeders who help with Domestic Shorthair rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Elmwood Park paves the way for another one to be saved.
