Pepper's Story...
Cuddle bug, lap dog-that’s Pepper
You may ask why would a Golden Rescue have a black Chihuahua/Pug mix (Chug) on their website. Pepper and her Golden Retriever sister, Princess, where abandoned at that shelter by their owners. When we went to rescue Princess we found out that Pepper was scheduled to be euthanized, we could not leave her behind to face that fate.
Pepper takes a few minutes to warm up to new people but if you get down on her level she will jump in your lap or roll over for a belly rub. She is great with other dogs and loves to play a rousing game of tug of war with her sister Princess. Her other favorite game is to keep the planet save from “CATS”. She does not hurt the cats she lives with in her foster home but loves to chase them.
If Pepper is not sitting with you watching TV or playing with Princess or scouting for cats, she will settle down into her kennel for a nap. Although when she sees her leash come out she is ready to go for a nice leisurely walk.
Pepper would do best in an adult only home as she is timid around young children.
If you have room in your home (Pepper is little she does not take up much space) and room in your heart (There Pepper will take up a lot of space because she is so sweet) please consider adopting Pepper.
Note: We would like Pepper and Princess to be adopted together but will consider separating.
Training: Basic commands. Crate trained
Compatibility: Good with Dogs, Chases Cats, No small children
Activity Level: Laid back
Status: Available

Our Adoption Process...
If you are interested in adopting one of our rescued Golden Retrievers, we ask that you first fill out an application. If and when you are approved, then you can let us know what kind of Golden you are interested in adopting, (age, sex, color, activity level,) and our adoption committee will pair you with one of our current rescued Goldens, or alert you as soon as the dog of your dreams enters our system. Or, you are more than welcome to browse through our list of available goldens and tell us what dogs you'd like to meet based on their descriptions and pictures. If you have any questions or comments, please email applications@azgrc.org.
