MEET MIKE AND IKE. Three year old, neutered male tweenie, red smooth dachshunds (AKC, no papers). Must be placed together.
One look at Mike and Ike and you have to agree – these are handsome boys. These guys are the best! They are quiet, have perfect manners and are extremely good-natured, happy dogs. They greet everyone with wagging tails and kisses and love to go for walks. They get along well with other dogs. They get along well with other dogs, although they like to chase cats, but could probably be persuaded not to. They are best buddies and must be adopted together, but once you meet them you’ll want to bring them both home anyway. Based on 30 years of experience with rescue doxies, we have pretty strict criteria. Do you work from home/stay at home/work part time? Have a securely fenced yard? We do not place same sex in a home and children need to be 10 or older (some exceptions IF the dog is a puppy or the child has been raised with a doxie). We prefer no smokers and a home with no other small animals (ferrets, hamsters, etc) Cats are on a case by case basis depending on the dog. Remember these are rescues, many were surrendered because of these issues. All our dogs are fully vetted, including all shots, wormer & flea protection, nails trimmed, the works. They'll come with a basket of goodies, food, toys and a custom made harness. The adoption fee is $350 each, no exceptions as this covers the cost to rescue them, vet them and take care of them while in our rescue. It also helps towards the care of other doxies that come with huge vet or dental bills or need extensive behavioral training.
